MARKET INFO ONLY/Not listed by BDRE: The DC government chose a partnership of Hines and Archstone-Smith as developers to redevelop the former Convention Center site, and London-based Foster and Partners as the architects. Current plans include 280,000 s.f. of retail, 460 rental units, 222 condos, and 450,000 s.f. of office space. A central library is also being proposed by the mayor. Estimated beginning of construction is 2008, with completion around mid 2011. The 10-acre site will reintroduce 10th St., which disappeared with the first convention center.
